Hi there! I’m so excited you’re here. My name is Amanda.
Back in 2014 I decided to launch our sister website, The Chunky Chef, mainly because I was constantly cooking and realized I needed to catalog those recipes somewhere! I found, and still find, it hilarious that I even have a recipe website, because when I moved in with my husband, I could barely boil water. Seriously, it was bad. So if you’re sitting there reading this, thinking to yourself, “I can’t cook these recipes… I burnt those cookies the other day”, or “Who am I kidding, I’m a terrible cook”… take a deep breath. Inhale…. exhale….
I’m living proof that you CAN cook these recipes, and you ARE a great cook. Trust me. You don’t have to be a culinary arts graduate to cook great meals! My recipes will always contain helpful tips and tricks, as well as easy to follow step by step directions.

Now, does that mean you won’t occasionally set off the smoke detector and/or get a burn notice? Nope… because guess what… I still do that from time to time! In fact, I just burnt our garlic bread pretty bad the other night lol. Live and learn, right?
The point is…. keep going. Keep trying. Cooking is truly an art form, and it’s one of the things I’m most passionate about. So if you have a question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me!
Since then, the electric pressure cookers have come out and of course, I had to get one. And guess what? It sat, in the box, in our garage for about a year because I was too terrified to try it.

It was a different method of cooking, and I remembered hearing all the tales of the stovetop pressure cookers exploding and being potentially dangerous. Plus, I kept hearing about this BURN notice, and that just didn’t sound good, at all.
Once I finally put on my big girl pants and gave it a try, I was hooked. Seriously hooked. And not scary at all! No explosions, and the BURN notice is something you can work around 🙂 I’ve all but retired my slow cooker, and turn more and more to my Instant Pot, and I’m here to share all my creations with you!
I really try to keep cooking fun and delicious, while still being fast and easy. Whether you’re curious about pressure cookers, wanting to learn to cook, or just want some quick weeknight meals, you’re in the right spot!
Make sure to subscribe to our newsletter to be the first to know when we hit publish on a new recipe, and we’d love it if you followed us on Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram for even more pressure cooker favorites!
